Visual Art is a beautiful language using the elements and principles of art. As a painter and art instructor for many years, I also enjoy writing, nature, family and friends. The world of art is fun, challenging, exhausting and renewing all at the same time! Please note, I am no longer using paypal. I'm in the process of removing paypal buttons. This is an older painting - started years ago, but finished a few months ago ... don't know why the long delay, it just happened that way. It is a view of the houses along the alley of my first home. Very mid-western feel.
Very busy yesterday .... :-( Not enough time to paint, post, etc.
But I am trying something kinda new - painting (oil) on a new surface. Its a gessoed masonite board - very smooth. Handles the paint very differently. The jury is still out on whether I like it or not. In the meantime, I'm posting another older painting since I'm still camera challenged! (the camera is in Oklahoma, I'm in Illinois right now.)

Thanks for the comments Helen. This painting came out awesome, you have a gift at doing architectural works. I can relate to putting something away for a long time and then finishing it later...a long time later. It's worth it though, this came out beautiful.
All my best,
Todd
Hey thanks Todd. Your comment has a lot of weight - I really respect the work you are doing! I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Helen.
I like the sleepy gentleness of this painting. I think it's the gentle shadows & muted colours which give it this 'feel'.
