Shells and such...

Conch Shell, approx 4 x 5" watercolor on paper

This little painting came about as a result of an inquiry about some note cards for a gift shop. I've been working with some ideas and this is one of them! It's small... but I like the watercolor media for this subject matter! Seemed to make sense. I would like to do at least one more in a similar style. Check back to see what I come up with!

Helen, you are a temptress! I just posted on a walk on the beach and I come here to find another wonderful shell painting! You may just head up the top of Christmas list again this year! LOVE IT!!!

The soft watercolors evoke the perfect scenes of the seaside. So lovely!

Helen, this is so delicate and soft. It reminds me of our walks on the beach in North Carolina. Remember how you can 'hear' the ocean in the shell?

As always lovely, love your new notecards. You asked me a question long ago what masonite was, it is like a plywood.

Thank you everyone! A word about masonite... I don't think that was my question. I've used it for years - but - it is necessary to prepare it with gesso and sanding before painting. Also a thicker version is a good idea to prevent warping!
