Cherries, 5 x 6" Acrylic on illustration board
Here is something like some previous paintings I've done a few months ago. My intent is to do another fruit painting and then make the 4 designs into a set of note cards. I'll keep you posted on that!
Working with paint on illustration board is interesting! It isn't really designed for that - so, where you put the paint is where the paint stays. It is much less "forgiving" than watercolor paper. But, it also has such a smooth surface that the finished painting has a very nice result and the detail can be done very precisely!

Hi Helen, I like your blog and decided to link your site to mine...Your efforts seem to be paying off, I've started my blog a month ago so hope to be able to paint more through doing the blog. Seems to be working so far. Colourful original work by the way. I like your blue kitten. Check out my site if you like -- Jim
Nice job on the cherries. There is nothing quite like seeing a cherry tree that is loaded. I purchased some illustration board the other day to do what you have done. I used to do pen and ink on illo board.
Cherries in art are my favorite! Yours are so vibrant and wonderful. Now my mouth is watering.
