Petunia in Shadows

Petunia in Shadows,  6x6.5" mixed media (ink and acrylic) on illustration board

This was yet another take on creating color and effect with broken color.
I loved the shadows and the subtle color on this flower.
Its been a very busy few weeks - but I'm working in the few minutes here and there.  School is almost out now, and I look forward to having more time to spend in the studio. Hopefully, you'll soon see the results of additional time!

Helen, I am so glad that I found your blog recently. I just adore your work and this piece is no exception. The cross posted earlier on is absolutely breathtaking.

So glad you will be done with school for a couple of months. Teachers need and deserve that break! Out here where I am, the kids are all out already.

Thank you so much! I'm very glad you found my blog and then I found yours recently too! Your comments are very encouraging :)
Its been an intense year at work, so I'm more than ready for some time this summer too! (Not that I won't have anything to do for work... but I will enjoy seeing some family and doing some much needed things at the house - as well as more time in the studio!)
