Morning Market

Morning Market - Jerusalem Bazaar, 8x10" watercolor/ink on paper
© Helen Read

SOLD

This painting is somewhat different than a my typical subject matter, but I was challenged by the Virtual Paintout blog to go w/Google street view to Jerusalem and paint something from that area.
I was attracted to the colorful textiles and items in the marketplace!  I also like the shapes and geometry of the street.   I hope you'll enjoy this view of the market place!

Hi Helen...

I saw your work on the Virtual Paint Out so had to head over to visit when I saw you had a link with your name. Your work is beautiful, oh so exquisite!

I am so excited to see you live in Illinois, that you are a teacher and that you live for your relationship with Christ. I would love to be mentored by you, or take a class as I have so much room for improvement and just cannot call myself an artist, as much as I'd love to be able to do that. I also am a believer, though I am not as fervent as I once was, much to my own disappointment. Nothing happened other than moving away from my home church out in WA and coming back to Illinois near family. I still believe as strongly as I ever have but I have to admit that I've let worries and life intrude more than is healthy.

I've scrolled through your blog and I do think your work is just truly exquisite and oh so beautiful.

Thank you so much for leaving such a kind comment, CrimsonLeaves! I wish we could sit down with a cup of tea and talk awhile!
I hope to hear from you again... and I want to encourage you in your artistic pursuits as well as your life's journey. We all have such an interesting story scripted by the Lord, and often with our own scripting too.
Thank you again for looking at my blog and taking a moment to write. You've been a great encouragement! :)

Your paintings are lovely, Helen--so glad I found your blog via your comment on CrimsonLeaves (Sherry). The colors and patterns of this painting are delightful, as are all your more "typical" paintings. Enjoyed browsing your blog!
