Pink Gerbera Daisy, multiplied

Tall Daisies, triptych painting - measures 8 x 24" total, oil on canvas

A few posts back, I showed the start of this painting x 3. The reason I painted it was a reaction, of sorts, to my surprise that a potted daisy I brought in for the winter has bloomed brightly in my house while snow was on the ground! Quite a nice surprise, which I'm sharing with you! The Gerbera Daisy is truly magnificent! The color (they come in many colors) is quite intense! And there is an interesting ring of yellow fringe around the darker center. In the background, I did a gradation between dark, brown-green at the bottom changing to a lighter bluish-green near the top. Looking at this while doing the painting, I noticed the fuzziness of the leaves and how that caught the light with a halo effect around each leaf! There are always many surprises when we observe the natural world carefully! Perhaps you have the perfect spot - long and thin - needing 3 spots of color!

I really like this Helen! The vertical format is especially nice.
