Seed, 16 x 20" Oil on panel
This is an older painting - and I posted it today because I feel that it explains this week and last week a little bit. It has been a busy week - so far - with some out of studio work which seems as if it will result in some gallery exposure, which is very exciting. But also, as I have been working in the studio, I have felt as if some "seeds" of ideas are just lying under the surface, ready to break open with new growth ... but not quite yet. In a way, its a little frustrating - I hit the proverbial brick wall as I try some new things and experiment with new ideas, and yet - it is a necessary step to get to a new place - growth! Kinda like a seed under the surface, gathering energy for the moment it emerges into the light. That's my feeling, at least - and I'm anxious for it to show itself! I'm not sure what the sprout will look like yet ... a waiting game!

I'm certain every serious artist understands your circumstances. So much of what we do requires geatation and patience. Your description is so accurate and so familiar.
i look forward to seeing the results of this waiting.
Blessings to you, Helen, on this Good Friday.
Happy Easter,
Maria
This older painting shows such a different style than your newer work. I really like it! It reminds me of the fluidity of Georgia O'Keefe. So beautiful!
I'm in the same place too. Have kinda hit that brick wall myself. So I know what it feels like.

Beautiful painting and beautiful sentiment Helen
This is a beautiful image, Helen, and expresses your apt words. Of course you know that the seed will open into something fresh and lovely!
