I haven't done a graphite drawing ~ just for the sake of drawing in quite some time.
Here I'm trying out a new support. This is done on clayboard by Ampersand
Here is its beginning.
The progress continues below and I'll continue posting progress on it as I go.
I'm using 3 H, HB, 3 B, and 6 B
The clayboard ground, by the way, is great!
Its hard to see what the subject matter is from these early views, but
it is a very interesting set of hibiscus buds in various stages of opening.
Quite striking. I also enjoyed your landscape drawings of IL. I have family in Rockford and enjoyed the old barns and farms of WI & IL as we drove through. Wanted to stop and take pictures often, but the six kids didn't have the patience for that. I think you colored pencil sky is very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret! I also have wanted to stop for photos so often on a trip... unfortunately, no one else is very tolerant of that idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your encouraging comments!
This is really interesting: lots of fascinating shapes with dramatic contrasts of lights and darks.
ReplyDeleteWow helen, these are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in often at my blog, going to peep at your gallery..
